The building - Redecoration of St. Anne’s Church

After some years of deliberation, fundraising and a lot of ‘scratching of heads’, St.Anne’s was finally in the wonderful position of being able to redecorate the interior of our church.

The interior was looking old, drab and very uninspiring so it was decided, with the help and guidance of our architect, that we would give the church a much needed face lift, thus making it an uplifting house of prayer.

At the end of August 2016 we vacated the church and left it in the capable hands of our contractors. Services, in the meantime, were held in the East Wittering Village Hall. The work took several weeks and we finally moved back into the church at the end of October. What a transformation! Newly painted walls, ceiling, and sanctuary. New sanctuary carpet and blinds for the sanctuary windows. Smart pew runners for the choir.

On Sunday 22nd January, 2017 we were honoured to have Bishop Mark at our 10.00am Eucharist to rededicate the church and the congregation to our ongoing mission in this parish. Following this, everyone was invited to a very enjoyable ‘Celebration Lunch’ in the village hall.

This work would not have been possible without the generosity of members of our congregation and for that they have our very grateful thanks.
